Dr. Robert A. Davis
Optometric Physician
Heading up a team of optometrists, ophthalmologists, and opticians at The Eye Center, Dr. Davis has earned an international reputation as a leading optometrist.

Dr. Amanda Nanasy
Optometric Physician
Dr. Amanda Nanasy specializes in performance vision enhancement and vision rehabilitation after a concussion. Besides working with athletes, she also sees patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, for their yearly comprehensive eye exams. She loves the opportunity to see her patients and their families year after year! She is currently a team doctor for InterMiami CF, Miami HEATCheck gaming, and Miami Dolphins as well as several other collegiate and high school teams. She is the Immediate Past Chair of AOA’s Sports and Performance Vision Board and an appointed member of the AOA TBI Taskforce.
More about Dr. Amanda Nanasy
She has been adjunct faculty for NSU Optometry where she co-developed their elective on Sports and Performance Vision. She is a Sports Vision Pros partner, promoting the importance of vision in athletic performance across all levels of play as well as working on research to further the advancement in performance vision. Dr. Nanasy also sees patients at a second location in Holy Cross Sports Medicine Clinic where she is part of their concussion care team.
Dr. Nanasy is a frequent author for optometric publications and works in a consultant or advisory board role for various contact lens and pharmaceutical companies to continue to bring her patients the most current and advanced treatment options. While Dr. Nanasy has lectured on the topics of contact lenses, practice management, sports vision, and concussions both nationally and internationally, she is proudest to have presented on behalf of the American Optometric Association in Washington DC for a U.S. Congressional briefing about the role of optometry in concussion and traumatic brain injury care in 2019.
Dr. Nanasy earned her bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Microbiology with a minor in Psychology from UCF, along with a second bachelor’s degree in Vision Science as well as her Doctoral degree in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. She is a member of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, the International Sports Vision Association, and the International Brain Injury Association/North American Brain Injury Society and is pursuing her fellowship in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Nanasy is spending time with her husband and two young children at the golf course, CubScout events, or having other “Nanasy Family Adventures”!
Dr. Stephanie N. Davis
Optometric Physician
Dr. Stephanie Davis is proud to be an important part of the Eye Center for almost 25 years. Her expertise, loyalty, and dedication help to make the Eye Center one of the leading destinations for patient eye care in the state of Florida. Dr. Davis is the director of Dry Eye Solutions. Her specialties are in advanced procedures which include the treatment and management of dry eye, ocular surface disease, and contact lenses. She examines patients of all ages.
Dr. Davis did her undergraduate studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where she received her Bachelor of Science degree.

She received her OD degree from Nova Southeastern University where she graduated with clinical honors.
Dr. Davis worked at The Sight Improvement Center in New York City, New York before joining The Eye Center in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She is a member of the Broward County Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. Dr. Davis has been an adjunct clinical professor at Nova Southeastern University and has been published in Optometrist Management and Woman in Optometry. She is one of the team optometrists for The Miami Dolphins and Inter Miami CF.
Dr. Davis is a member of the Mosaic Group. This invitation-only group of highly regarded optometrists from across the country has been meeting annually for more than 18 years. The doctors of The Mosaic Group bring together decades of patient care experience in diagnosing and treating all types of eye conditions as well as running a successful practice. The Group’s primary goals include discussing and implementing new and creative ideas for better patient care and practice management. Dr. Davis is also proud to be involved with Debbie’s Dream Foundation which is raising money to fight stomach cancer. She was the co-chair of the 2018 South Florida fundraiser.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality with her children, photography, traveling, cooking, reading, and dancing.
Dr. Christian A. Hernandez
Optometric Physician
Dr. Christian A. Hernandez is a South Florida native, born and raised in Hialeah, Florida. Dr. Hernandez is fluent in English as well as Spanish. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida International University in 2008, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. He then pursued his career in optometry, graduating from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry in 2013. Part of his 4th year of training was completing an internship right here at The Eye Center!
More about Dr. Hernandez
Dr. Hernandez then completed a 1-year residency for advanced training in primary care with an emphasis on the cornea and specialty contact lenses at Nova. Following that, he was brought on as a full-time faculty member at Nova where he was teaching the 3rd and 4th-year students in the clinic and helped teach the contact lens course.
He is proud to have joined The Eye Center in August 2015 as an associate doctor. He has since also become co-director of our myopia control clinic, Nearsighted Solutions, based out of the Eye Center. His professional interests lie in specialty contact lens fitting and clinical imaging technology.
Dr. Gabriela Olivares
Optometric Physician
Dr. Olivares brings to The Eye Center extensive knowledge and passion for the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease as well as myopia management and control.
Dr. Olivares was born and raised in South Florida. She earned her degree in Optometry at Nova Southeastern University, while on the Chancellor’s Scholarship and graduated in the top ten percent of her class. Her undergraduate schooling was completed at the University of Central Florida, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology.

Dr. Olivares completed externship training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of ocular disease with an emphasis on glaucoma and retinal disorders. She also has extensive knowledge and passion for myopia management involving pharmaceutical treatments and multifocal contact lenses.
She has received several honors including the Beaver-Visitec Dry Eye Award. She also held leadership positions in the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society and Gold Key International Honors Society.
Professional memberships include the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and Broward County Optometric Association. She is currently the President of the Broward County Optometric Association.
Dr. Olivares speaks fluent Spanish and is committed to the South Florida community. In her spare time, she spends time with her two young kids and family and also really enjoys boxing.
Dr. Sydney Madrigal
Optometric Physician
Dr. Sydney Madrigal is a South Florida native. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Florida and Doctor of Optometry and Master’s in Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her time in Birmingham, she organized screenings that focused on low-income areas to help underserved communities of Birmingham. In addition, she helped create an elective course to help future doctors better serve Hispanic and Latino patients.

After receiving her doctorate, Dr. Madrigal completed her residency in Ocular Disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. During her training, she worked in specialty departments including; Neuro-ophthalmology, Retina, Glaucoma, Cornea, and refractive surgery. During her time at Bascom Palmer, she also worked in the emergency department where she was on-call for the University of Miami Hospital alongside ophthalmology residents.
Outside of the office, Dr. Madrigal is an avid Crossfitter and enjoys spending time with her family and puppy named Charlie. She is also proud to be fluent in Spanish.
