iWellness Exam uses light waves to help detect early signs of retinal diseases.

In efforts to provide our patients with the utmost care, The Eye Center is proud to announce the iWellness exam along with the Optomap Retinal Imaging advanced technology. Similar to an MRI, the iWellness takes a cross section of the retina giving us the opportunity to view all the retinal layers in order to detect underlying diseases that can develop without warning. This non-invasive imaging test uses light waves and allows the doctor to detect early signs of retinal diseases.

Along with the iWellness, we recommend a panoramic photo of the back of the eye, called the Optomap. This allows the doctors to detect many diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy along with many others.  Many patients love the fact that we can take a photo of the back of the eye without dilation drops, making this a great alterative.

Both of these added technologies provide our patients with a permanent record for their file and allow us to compare reports in the future, looking for any changes.

The Drs TV Show recently spoke about Optomap.
